Frequently Asked Questions
-
Documentary wedding photography is a way of capturing your special day naturally, without interruption, as it unfolds.
This means I am able to portray the raw emotion of the day, the real moments.
It also means you get to enjoy your wedding day with your friends and family (not taking away precious time you could be spending with your loved ones).
-
Yes I am based in Chester, Cheshire, but I love travelling and will go anywhere to photograph your wedding.
-
After confirming your booking, I will send you a booking form to fill out with details such as timings, formal images, venue information, names of wedding party members and so on.
I would also recommend a phone call or video call at least a month before the wedding to discuss the day and answer any questions you might have.
More practically, I make sure to plan my route ahead of the day and travel with plenty of time to avoid traffic delays. I also shoot with two high-end professional cameras; back up equipment is always on hand.
-
I shoot exclusively with high-end digital equipment. Every image that you will receive will be hand-edited by myself. The editing involves colour correcting, cropping and conversion to my signature film-style photo emulation.
I deliver every image in both colour and black and white.

Although I am a documentary wedding photographer, I understand that some weddings require some traditional group photos. I encourage you to have no more than three to five group shots, and with the aid of one of your wedding party, we will do these very quickly and professionally.
Guests usually do not want to be standing around waiting for a photographer to direct them, so I will organise this section of your day quickly and then move on.
If you require many more “formal photographs”, to allow me to continue to create the storytelling-type images that you see on this website, I can arrange for a second shooter to be on hand specifically to cater for the formal shots.
-
Because photographs from your wedding day will be treasured forever, I may take up to eight weeks to edit your wedding photographs (often quicker), after which you will receive a link to your online gallery and photo film.
-
Contact me at any time, and I will check availability. You are more than welcome to give me a ring to discuss your wedding further.
I require a completed and signed contract and a non-refundable booking fee of £200 to secure my services for your wedding date. I cannot hold dates without the form and retainer payment. The remainder of the balance is due 28 days before the wedding date.

At the same time as being a wedding photographer, I also enjoy landscape photography and spending time in the mountains.
My 10-year photography journey has been all about storytelling through images, which is why I am captivated by the human story behind every wedding I am privileged to be a part of.
